职责描述:

We are looking for an offshore China Reality Research Analyst to support a boutique investment banking client. China Reality Research focuses on explaining what’s happening, namely the current reality, in China on the ground to institutional investors across consumer sentiment, real estate, inflation, the operations of SME manufacturers. This includes themes like Macau gaming, industrial automation, cosmetics, fast fashion, catering, beverages, videogames, online entertainment, tourism etc.

The team’s focus is more on understanding how consumer preferences and spending are evolving within and across categories. As a result, though this can include some explanations of how and why specific firms’ products are doing better/worse, we don’t analyze specific stocks, earnings, price movements etc. In order to help clarify what’s going on in China and to make our research engaging, we also aim to take a more journalistic approach to writing.

Daily responsibilities include:

1. Be responsible for research and writing on emerging consumer themes proposed by Head of China Reality Research and his team

2. Conduct research to identify and understand new trends, propose new report topics and write surveys that can be presented to consumers

3. Make use of both team’s proprietary survey data and supplementary research to write reports to explain their findings to client base of institutional investors

4. Collect data /info from various financial databases like Wind, Bloomberg, CEIC etc. and other local information sources

5. Find differentiated sources of information by following discussion on social and print media

6. Update existing surveys that are used in the past years for subsequent developments

任职要求:

1. Bachelors/ Master’s degree, majored in Economics/Finance/Financial Writing/Journalism

2. Relevant report writing experience in journalistic approach, especially for financial market

3. Good knowledge of China Economics, Policies, and Stock Market

4. Familiar with financial databases like Bloomberg, CEIC, Wind etc. and local information sources

5. Good written and spoken English and Chinese skills; should be able to express thoughts in a logical and clear manner

6. Needs to have positive mindset, able to take complete ownership and responsibility for allocated work, willing to accept challenges, self-motivator
